Ali Banat 
(16 February 1982 – 29 May 2018) was an Australian  Humanitarian, Philanthropist, Charity Worker, Social Activist and Former Businessman from Sydney, Australia​. 








Early Life and Charity Work.
 Ali Banat grew up in Australia to a life of luxury and wealth.  He is part of the Australian Muslim community. Once he was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 with doctors estimating he only has around 7 more months to live, he denounced his previous life of material wealth and dedicated it to helping others Ali created a project called, MATW (Muslims Around The World) on October 2015 to assist those less fortunate in the poverty stricken areas of TOGO in Africa
About his life's work, he commented, “At this point in my life, Alhamdulillah I have been gifted by Allah with cancer throughout my body and I have changed my whole life to helping people,” 

Ali Banat has started his own Go Fund Me for his charity work. 

In a controversial move according to Banat, his charity's bank account with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia was shut down without giving him any warning as of September 2016. Banat claims it is because his charity is Islamic. 

Death

He passed away on May 29, 2018 in Sydney, Australia. Hundreds of mourners attended his funeral on May 30, 2018. Australian Islamic Scholar Sheikh Abu Bakr Zoud gave a final farewell send off at his Funeral. 



Legacy

Ali Banats Organization MATW Project has ongoing projects in Togo,Africa which through his efforts with his organization and donations from many generous people from around the world have seen a village being built which includes housing, a school and a Mosque.

Transportation was also given to the people in form of buses and light speed motorbikes and a bakery in Togo for the less fortunate.
